LIMNOS - HISTORICAL OVERVIEW
According to mythology, Lemnos is considered the island of Hephaestus. Goddess Hera was enraged with Zeus one day and when her son Hephaestus supported her, Zeus became so angry that he cast him out of Mt. Olympus. Hephaestus ended up on Limnos, where he started caring for the locals, thus making the island his second home.
