The story of Ouzo Plomari Isidoros Arvanitos begins in 1894 with the famous recipe of its founder. Isidoros Arvanitis, a persistent and perfectionist Plomarite, had a vision to create the best ouzo in the world. Distilling aromatic seeds and herbs of Lesvos, along with aromatics that he sought on the other side of the earth, Isidoros Arvanitis, created the unique and famous Ouzo Plomariou, which maintains to this day its quality and taste unchanged. The distillery of Ouzo Plomari Isidoros Arvanitos, is located in a wonderful olive grove in the picturesque Plomari, the place where Ouzo Plomariou was created in 1894, by Isidoros Arvanitis and continues to be produced for over 100 years. Recently the distillery opened its gates for the first time to the general public, inviting ouzo lovers to visit its facilities and live up close a unique experience for all the senses. Visitors have the opportunity to watch closely the whole ritual of the traditional production process and to be introduced to the secrets of distillation: 18 small, handmade, copper urns offer "generously" the same unchanging secret recipe created by Isidoros Arvanitis, and is kept. from 1894. The cauldrons are handmade and made of copper by the same family of coppersmiths to this day. At the site, guests can enjoy a remarkable collection of museum objects which comes to complement the unique experience, and the unforgettable time travel. This collection demonstrates the evolution of the distillery over the century and includes items that were used during distillation and bottling such as old pots, distillate collection containers, stoppers and labeling machines, the so-called labels.
