In 1968, the first cheese factory of the Rhodes family was founded in Hidira, Lesvos. In 1997, the company passed into the hands of the second generation and was renamed to "Afoi D. Rhodes OE", with the distinctive title LESVIGAL.

With a vision of continuous improvement of the quality of its products and the satisfaction of its customers and following the developments of technology, LESVIGAL proceeded to the construction of a state-of-the-art cheese factory in Vatousa, Lesvos. The new facilities operated for the first time in 2008 with a milk processing capacity of 70tn on a daily basis, while there is a forecast for a further increase in capacity.

The new facilities also have a state-of-the-art analysis laboratory, which covers all requirements for control (microbiological and chemical analyzes) of both raw milk and intermediate and final products, thus ensuring consistent quality and hygiene of products.

The laboratory of LESVIGAL is the only laboratory in the Prefecture of Lesvos that has a self-control code from EL.O.GA.K.
LESVIGAL, the largest cheese company in the Aegean and one of the 10 largest in Greece in the production of goat's and sheep's cheese, constantly designs and develops new innovative products while packaging its products in new packaging attractive and practical for the consumer.
